Sonya Black grew up in Massachusetts, where her family endured multi-generational poverty, addiction, and abuse. Those experiences contributed to Sonya’s early struggle with mental health issues. Through her commitment to therapy, self-improvement, and a unique friendship with God, she found her way to a strong sense of self, family, and community. She has served as a caregiver for the sick and elderly. She and her family serve church missions at home and abroad, including a South African village where they’ve contributed to the care and education of orphans. Now that she has achieved peace in her life, she is devoted to sharing her hope and faith with others. She lives in Mobile, Alabama with her husband and teenage daughter.
